Being prepared is the key to winning that starting position at your school, earning a college scholarship or ultimately playing professionally. That is why our main objective with the Ray Guy/Prokicker.com Kicking Academy is to provide every participant focused "individualized" instruction allowing each athlete to develop their own "natural" style.

Even though there are basic, easy to understand guidelines to follow when developing kicking and punting skills, not all athletes kick and punt the same way. We help every athlete understand not only where "their skill" needs improvement but also what they are doing naturally that is already correct. This way, athletes learn at a much faster pace and every athlete can accomplish our program goal of "learning how to coach themselves."

Our National Talent Search is a "behind the scenes" evaluation that takes place throughout the entire instructional process at every Ray Guy/Prokicker.com Kicking Academy program. Each participant is involved in this process and no one knows it is taking place. This way, we can focus our attention on every athlete and give them the "personal" attention they deserve.

Serving as a marketing arm for student-athletes seeking collegiate opportunities, the National Talent Search is primarily for high school juniors and seniors, although, on rare occasions, we may include sophomore student-athletes who demonstrate a natural ability at an early stage of their career.

Since every athlete's progression is charted throughout each Ray Guy/Prokicker.com Academy program, we are able to recognize, very easily, the athletes that will become the newest members of our National Talent Search List. Hang time and distance on punts; height, accuracy and distance on placement kicks; and hang time and distance on kickoffs are obvious identifiers of natural talent. We do not need competitions to "sort out" the top prospects. An important aspect is to see what we call "the capability factor." If the athlete shows at any time the ability to consistently kick or punt, as if they were already in college, they will greatly increase the likelihood of earning a spot on our list.

For over 10 years, college football coaches and recruiters across the country have relied on us to share with them the names of top kicking and punting prospects. We provide information directly to them through our national mailing as well as the immediate posting on our website. They are confident knowing we will see "in person" athletes who are ready and further preparing themselves for the next level.

It's all about credibility. Athletes named to this exclusive list, will appreciate the accomplishment more by knowing they have "earned it". Most importantly, college coaches and recruiters know that each name listed tells the story of an athlete who is very deserving as well as one who has taken the initiative to continuously improve their skills.
